She will be accompanied by our Operations Director, Lisa Collins, on Thursday 15th May as the pair take the plunge to show the Chambers unwavering commitment to our chosen charity of the year.
Weather permitting, the skydive will be taking place during World Mental Health week. Our aim is to raise funds to support the vital work that Mid & North East Essex Mind do for the county but also to spread awareness and open conversations throughout our community on the importance of good mental health in the workplace.
Denise and Lisa have a target to raise £3,000. We would greatly appreciate it if you could give what you can to support them in their brave and bold effort to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause. Please feel free to share their daring challenge far and wide through your own networks.
Now, more than ever, it is clear there must be a greater understanding around mental health. Employers now have a responsibility to ensure their workers feel supported and can access the right help when needed. Mid & North East Essex Mind offer this support to individuals through services like their award-winning training and Mental Health Toolkit.
To further show our support we will be joined by representatives from Mid & North East Essex Mind at our upcoming Festival of Business. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit them on their stand and take part in the ‘Mental Health Toolkit Taster Session’ for an introduction to their workplace wellbeing training.
The Chambers team have also been hard at work reaching out to our Members to gather a selection of fabulous prizes for a Christmas raffle. The generosity shown has been brilliant and we thank everyone who has got involved. The prize draw will be held at the end of the year with full details to be announced soon.
“You don’t need to walk alone in business with Essex Chambers of Commerce by your side, and you don’t need to walk alone with mental health with Mid and North East Essex Mind by your side. In our current turbulent climate, it is imperative that we support charities like this to help those in the region impacted by poor mental health. The skydive may feel daunting but I am ready to embrace this exhilarating challenge head on. We would really appreciate your support so please give as generously as you can”
“As an individual with a fear of heights this will be a huge personal challenge for me. However, there are many in our county who struggle with their own inner battles every day. I will be facing my fears for a good cause and am proud to show my support in whatever way I can. Every donation, big or small, will help us reach our goal and support Mind.”
Good luck Denise & Lisa, you have the whole Chambers team behind you. We hope you’ll have the whole Essex business community behind you to.
