The Essex Police Business Crime Unit team focuses on issues that affect local business owners and their employees such as theft, staff safety, and fraud. The team works with businesses to encourage increased reporting, improve crime prevention, and to help make our communities a safer place where business can thrive.
They work alongside the Town Centre Teams who work with local town centre business and the Rural Engagement Team who work with the rural and farming businesses within Essex.

No one group can tackle crimes against businesses alone, which is why partnership working is so important. This has been recognised by Essex Police Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington, Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Roger Hirst and Essex Chambers of Commerce Chief Executive, Denise Rossiter, who formed the Essex Business Crime Strategic Board.
Working in partnership with local businesses and organisations like Essex Chamber of Commerce is key in preventing and tackling business related crime.
