Our recent networking event at the Radisson Blu London Stansted Airport was nothing short of spectacular! The warmth and impeccable hospitality from the hotel were a real treat for our team and attendees, making this more than your standard networking experience.

Conveniently located a short walk away from the main terminal at London Stansted Airport, there was a fantastic buzz in the hotel as travellers and cabin crew checked in and out on route to and from their destinations.

Registering against the stunning backdrop of the Radisson Blu’s unique 3,500 bottle Wine Tower, our attendees were then welcomed into the hotel’s brilliant corporate event spaces in the Essex Suite. Whilst being serenaded by a professional singer, guests had the opportunity to catch up and connect while enjoying the atmosphere and a refreshing cocktail or mocktail.

“A beautiful venue and a credit to the airport.” is how our CEO, Denise Rossiter, referred to the hotel as she welcome attendees into the conference room, before introducing Mike Hardaker, Chief Asset & Development Officer at London Stansted Airport.

Embarking on Generational Investment for the Airport and the region

Mike provided an insightful presentation on the approved £1.1billion funding for the biggest transformation in a generation at London Stansted Airport.

Currently the largest single terminal airport in Europe, Stansted as served 30 million passengers over the past year. The transformation project, which will improve every area of the site, will increase the airport’s capacity to 43 million passengers. Making London Stansted the busiest single terminal airport in the world.

Not only will this investment increase the number of passengers and improve their travel experience, but it will also have a positive impact on the region. As the largest single site employer in the East of England, the airport presently has 12,500 employees. The transformation will see an additional 5,000 jobs created, boosting the region’s labour market.

The project is committed to sustainability, skills and ensuring that as much as possible of the investment remains in the local area. The work, which the team aims to complete by April 2028, will include:

  • Improving the road network around the airport and surrounding areas
  • Increasing the Stansted Express bus service
  • Growing capacity but keeping within their noise limitations and night time flight quotas to avoid disruption to residents.
  • Continuing to give back to their community by investing and supporting local charities and initiatives.

Mike ended the presentation calling for support from the businesses gathered. Local employer endorsement carries far greater significance, and the airport remains committed to putting as much into the local economy as possible to support these businesses.

Denise echoed Mike’s sentiment and urged people to show their support for the important improvement work, that will be vital for strengthening the infrastructure and economy in Essex. She encouraged attendees to reach out to the Essex Chambers with any questions or political lobbying requirements they have.

Exploring the Wonders of the Hotel

After the talks, including a warm welcome from Dinesh Kunder, General Manager at the hotel, attendees continued to enjoy the wonderful facilities of the venue. Guests sampled a vast selection of culinary delights, showcasing the hotel’s impeccable food offerings. From charcuterie and cheese boards, succulent slices of roasted pork belly, silky creamy pasta prepared in a heated wheel of parmesan cheese to a tower of delectable desserts. It’s fair to say that the food exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Dinesh and his team were also on hand to take tours of attendees to explore the other areas of the hotel. They were able to have a sneak peek into some of the 494 bedrooms, nail bar, gym facilities, 3 restaurants, all centred around the impressive Wine Tower. As attendees left, they experienced the tower lit up in red to reflect that Chambers brand, enhancing the hotel’s calm and sophisticated atmosphere.

Attendees also had the opportunity to explore a luxury Lexus LBX and an innovative Toyota Proace City Electric Icon, stylishly displayed in the lobby and conference room, kindly provided by our event sponsors Hills Motor Group.

All in all, this was a very special event and one that will be remembered for a very long time for our team and attendees.
